Prior to starting her own business in residential real estate, Deborah worked in K-12 education advocacy and community organizing at early-stage, high-growth startup organizations. Deborah was the Chief of Staff and Program and Initiatives Manager at Students for Education Reform (SFER), where she oversaw electoral programming and strategy for SFER Action Network and national student leadership development programming. During her time at SFER, Deborah grew the electoral work into a multi-state political program that trained college students to organize and campaign in support of local pro-reform school board candidates. She also directed the program’s recruitment, staff and student training, localized campaign plans, and strategic partnerships.
After several years at SFER, Deborah joined an advocacy and growth strategy consulting firm as Chief of Staff. While there, she utilized her experience launching and leading multi-state advocacy engagement and community organizing programs to support the company in its early stages of internal and external growth. She oversaw the organization’s daily functions while collaborating on strategic initiatives and working closely with national clients.
Deborah received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, where she studied criminal sociology and political science. She lived in NYC for a beat, then made her home in Northeast Minneapolis, where she enjoys everything the Northeast Arts District has to offer. If you can’t get ahold of her, Deborah is probably biking around the city, lifting at Los Campeones Gym, or reading for bookclub.
